Vibe or Spyder Vs1 paintball gun?

Q: Hey i'm looking for a first Paintball gun to get into paintball. I dont want an ion cus i dont wanna spend like 163$ plus like 20-30$ for a new feedneck on a gun. Paintball****** on youtube said he doesnt like kingman but likes the Sp vibe. But the spyder vs1 paintball gun is the same price on actionvillage and it shoots way faster. Please tell me what to get. Smart Parts Vibe or Kingman Spyder Vs1 paintball gun.

A1: first off the spyder vs1 paintball gun has a higher rof that doesnt mean it shoots faster on semi, which is pretty much the only mode you'll be using. the vibe is much more durabel than a vs1 paintball marker and i'm pretty sure its a good bit lighter. def. go with the vibe. its also got many upgrade options, but doesnt require as many as a vs1 would

A2: I've owned 2 vs2s and currently own the vibe. The vibe doesnt come with an aftermarket board and has no vision.

from what i see it depends on the amount of cash in your pocket, if you got the $360 dollars to spend upgrading the spyder vs2 paintball gun to perform good with a cp air combo (reg adapter, asa, and reg) and a tadao board go ahead, the air combo is a must because the stock asa/reg is garbage. and the board only has semi and three shot, and most people use ramping for tournaments.

But the vibe is extremely light, reliable, runs on a/s co2 or hpa and is an amazing starter gun. Best one in its price range, only problem is the max rate of fire.

It's alot about whatever catches YOUR eye, how comfotable it sits in your hand, and how much money you have. I dont play anymore so i have the vibe just for some recball, sometimes speedball

A3: i used to have the spyder vs1 paintball marker and i sold it and got a vibe. the vs1 will cost you more, and has the horrible feed-neck. my vibe is still ok in speED AT 11 bps booom thunder close but the vs1 will need new parts and the vibe has a clamping fn and more.

Spyder Pilot ACS problem (paintball gun not firing/cycling)

"Today I went outside to shoot with my Spyder Pilot ACS paintball gun I managed a pod and a half before I started experiencing problems. The problem was that the paintball gun wasn't cycling. I've had a problem before where I could fire a few shots and it would go to SEMI with Safety on, but now the paintball gun doesn't change to semi/safety on. Instead when I pull on the trigger, the paintball gun makes a clicking sound (different from when the gun is fired uncocked) and the bolt doesn't go forward. I also use 9Vs because I lost the one that it came with, and a new 9.6V battery I bought doesn't work correctly when I air up the paintball gun."

"It sounds like your board is damaged...try another 9.6 volt, and if that doesn't work, you probably need a new board."

"it could be due to the fact that u used 9v and damaged the board to begin with. "

"are the 9v's new and are you using a good brand? Is the 9.6v fully charged and not overcharged?
have you tried to shim the noid, when i used 9v's i put a quarter behind the noid and it worked fine, but when i switched to the 9.6v the striker wouldn't catch the sear every time so i took it out and now it shoots fine. "

General Cleaning of your spyder pilot ACS paintball marker
This will answer all the questions you might have about cleaning Your spyder Pilot ACS paintball marker.

New to paintball- need help paintball gun

"I'm new to the paintballing. I really dont know much about paintball guns or equipment (I'm transitioning from airsoft guns), but I was looking to buy a solid beginner paintball gun. I've been told spyder and tipman are good. I have a medium price range and looking for something with good speed and accuracy. Also any advice on paintball masks, air systems, or barrells would be great thanks. Oh ya, what is a good FPS for an airsoft gun?"

"A Vibe or SP1 would be a good starter paintball gun. They offer some of the best features and brings EP (electro pneumatic) operating design at a very low cost. However though it's kinda hard to make a suggestion without knowing like your exact budget, if you'll be using CO2 or HPA, and what style playing you be doing (i.e. woodsball or speedball)."

"Spyder vs1 paintball gun ($140) is an awesome starter paintball gun. Also for a mask check out the proto switch EL($30) and the empire vents helix ($30). Air systems try and get HPA, but if you can't afford an hpa tank co2 will get the job done."

"If you are a woodsball player get a tippmann 98 custom because it offers good upgrades for that paintball gun.
But if you don't play woodsball go with a Smart Parts Ion which costs like $200 but if you don't have enough money go with Smart Parts Vibe which is like $140. For the Smart Parts ion you don't really need any upgrades, my friend has only stock and his gun owns. And get either a Jt Proflex or Events goggles."

"Eh Tippmann paintball guns have more looks accessories then actual upgrades. And of the few upgrades it has not many are actually worth getting and won't make the paintball gun worth the money. Ions are $165 now and even though they don't need upgrades out of the box a lot of the stock parts are horrid."

Spyder Victor IV Stock Barrel

Looking for Cheap Barrel, Plz Help!!

"I have a Spyder Victor IV and a have a nagging question that I can't really decide. From what I know, the stock barrel is better than most other stock barrels but of course, it is still a stock barrel. It is a nine inch. What I want to know is whether or not it is worth upgrading. I was thinking a 12 in. Dye Proto One Piece for $18 but I'm not sure if its worth it in the first place, or if it is, is that a good barrel for a good price for the paintball gun?"

"If you plan on keeping that paintball gun for a while you're definitely going to need another barrel. I know proto one piece barrels are really good for the price, but try and find a 14" barrel."

"save up for an ion slg, or somthing dont waste any more money on that gun unless you want to, which in that case the best overall barrel to me is the sly(pretty expensive though), i dont know if you wantto have a barrel thats more expensive then your paintball gun"

"I agree. Save up for an slg or even a spyder vs1/vibe. If ur gonna stay with the victor for a while get a proto one piece 14"."

"ya well im gonna stay with the Spyder Victor paintball gun for a bit just b/c im not a huge player and its not too important for me. i've been looking for a proto one piece 14" but I havent found anything for a great price. Does anyone know where I can find one for under $25-30 (i know thats not much, but pb isnt the top thing on my budget right now)

If thats out of the question, are there any other good 14" barrels for under 25-30? I found the UPZ Gladius on ebay for a pretty good price but there werent many reviews so idk how good it really is. Any advice?"

"pmi razzor barrel. I got one for $20."

Spyder MR2 Paintball Gun Question

Question: I just got a Spyder MR2 paintball gun. What does it mean when the light is blinking orange and green?

Answer:

Spyder MR Series Guns

my spyder gun hybrid question

"i've somewhat recently picked up a spyder vs2 paintball gun that has a regulator that doesn't work and a somewhat upped xtra. I put the trigger frame from the spyder vs2 onto the xtra, but to do so i had to pull the eyes. now that the thing is rigged up, when i turn the board on, the lights go red. Is there any way I can make this thing shoot without the eyes plugged in? I would just like to know before i chop part of the body off to fit the vs2 gun bolt and put a bunch of money in upgrades if it isn't even going to work.

i got it used and as soon as i plugged my tank in i took about 20 shots and then realized the pressure was 300+ so i turned it down to the regular 150 and then the orings inside must have blown or something cause now it leaks out of every possible area on the bottomline reg. previous owner said this was the second reg that he had gone through

either way i thought it would be fun to have a second project paintball gun but i don't want to dump a bunch of money into it if i don't know whether the board will work without the eyes or not"

"itd probably be better to use xtra parts and put them onto the spyder vs series than vice versa."

"except the trigger frames are shaped different. the old spyders have a curve to fit the body while the spyder vs2 paintball marker frame is flat. this creates a little space between the body and the frame but it still fits and the sear still catches. essentially i know that it will work i just need to know if anyone knows if the board will still work if the eyes are disconnected or if there is someway to wire the relay so that it does work."

Spyder VS3 paintball gun & Ion Xe?

"I'm wanting to buy one of these paintball guns but dont really know how well they perform or how reliable, now i had a spyder pilot and i hated that thing.... had so many electrical problems with it but again it was co2 and these are nitrogen so any tips on which paintball gun i should get, or mabye you know a even better paintball gun as long as its 300 or under."

"Using co2 on the kingman didn't effect the electronics, it only cycles the pneumatics. Kingmans lower end paintball markers always have a few kinks here and there in it but nothing too big. If you didn't like how the spyder pilot handled you most likely wont enjoy the spyder vs3 paintball gun. Kingmans double stacked blow back markers don't really do the job when it comes to speed and operation, My vote goes for the ion paintball marker. The smart parts ion is a cheap readily available marker that has revolutionized the paintball market as far as amazing entry level markers are concerned. It has many, many mods available and has a smooth operation. You'll want to use hpa with these because the pneumatics are completely different that an open bolt like your past spyder paintball gun and requires consistancy that only a clean gas source could offer."

Spyder Sonix paintball gun OR Tippmann 98 custom?!?

Which paintball gun should i get Spyder Sonix OR Tippmann 98 custom?!?
Q: I am a beginner paintballer that isnt planning on playing any tournaments. I probably wont be paintballing more than three times a month because of how far the paintball course is from my house. The main thing i care about is that the paintball gun is accurate.

A1: Well, there are going to be pros and cons of each paintball gun. The reason why every paintball shop knows how to fix Spyder paintball guns so well is because they break down all the time.

For what you're looking for, the Tippmann owns the Spyder Sonix paintball gun. The Tippmann paintball gun is ultimately better, and especially in your case. Spyder paintball guns are nowhere near as accurate as the Tippmann 98 custom.

The Tippmann 98 custom series is about one of the most accurate classes of guns I've ever used, and I recommend them to anyone who asks about woodsball markers.

You'll see that the custom is really easy to upgrade, shop for, and have repaired (although I doubt you'll ever have to).

Spyder's aren't reliable, and they're hard to upgrade. Go with the Tippmann.

A2: Three times a month is actually a lot for a casual recballer. I wish i could play that often.

Anyway, both paintball guns can be accurate, since accuracy is dictated by barrel & paint quality (and paint to bore matching). That being said, i question the quality of both the stock spyder barrel & the stock tippmann barrel. So whichever gun you get, you may want to get a new barrel.

Not saying to get a new barrel when you get the gun, you should always use a stock paintball gun before upgrading anything, because maybe you won't need to. A lot of upgrades are based on personal preference, anyway.

So both paintball guns are good and both guns can be upgraded to electro later on if you choose to do so (buying an e-frame for the spyder or an e-grip for the tippmann 98). However, in the long run, it'd be cheaper to buy the electro version of either one now (for instance, getting an e-spyder like a Spyder Pilot or Spyder Electra or getting a Tippmann w/ an e-grip pre-installed).

A3: i play at a woods course in my backyard and i had a spyder paintball gun. Most of my friends played with Tippmann 98's, and they fired slower, but primarily more accurately and with fewer gun problems. moral of the story is that you cant beat a Tippmann, plus you can always get plenty of mods for it (id start with a barrel, as the stock barrels arent very good). If you want to fire faster, id recommend a smart parts ion, which ive seen new for under $170 at paintball stores.

A4: i've been using spyder paintball guns my whole life, they're easy to strip, every single paintball shop knows how to fix one,

this paintball gun costed me 150 and came with everything

then again that was several years ago, i'd recommend the spyder pilot acs, single shot, 3 round burst, and full auto is all you need

check out what this kid did to his pilot

now i'm pretty sure you can get this for less than $100

A5: I don't know much about spyders, but I heard decent things. I love Tippmann paintball guns though, especially the cost for what you get. They say Tippmanns are built like tanks, and they last. I had a Tippmann 98 custom with a 16 custom products barrel and a better bolt and it was really nice. Also the Tippmann A5 paintball gun for a little more is a really decent.

A6: I would get the Tippmann 98 custom. They are one of the most upgradeable paintball gun out there and are great. It is pretty accurate and can be very accurate when you upgrade it.

A7: I am a huge spyder fan but there is one gun i don't like and it is the spyder sonix... so get the tippman it is a good gun for begginers

SPECIAL PAINTBALL TOOLS: As you flip through SPLATXD, you'll notice a ton of little yellow buttons with different icons on them. These icons are meant to further the amount of paintball resources at your disposal, as each button takes you where you need to go to find more information on whatever topic your reading about. Here's a breakdown of the buttons and what they all mean.

Dollar Sign: Click here to go directly to the "Buy Now" page for this item.
Camera: Takes you to special photo galleries so you can see more photos on the subject.
Fist: Takes you to a related PBNation thread.
Question Mark: Links you directly to the host website of the company your reading about.
Letter: Send an email to a company/player/SPLAT Girl.
Myspace Logo: Visit the myspace pages of pro players and SPLAT Girls alike.
Eyeball: "See" additional info on this topic
Video Camera: "Watch" additional info on this topic.
RR: It's a secret, there's only one of this button in this issue.

SPLATXD Ads: All the ads in SPLATXD click-through directly back to the manufactures website. This way you don't have to wait to buy the hottest new goggles from JT, or find more info on the latest Stiffi barrel.

Maximizing Your SPLATXD Experience: Since SPLATXD features more paintball video than just about any other digital magazine in existence (Let alone paintball), load times may vary depending on your computer/internet speed. To help you out with this, we have set the smaller size videos to "Auto-play" meaning they'll start to play the second you turn to the page their on, while you'll need to hit play on the larger videos. This prevents too much content trying to buffer and load at once, which could drastically slow your experience. So if you come across a video and it doesn't automatically start to play, just click play on the toolbar.

Coming Soon: Coming next week, SPLATXD is changing host companies, which will result in double the loading speed and 25% larger pages, meaning the content will appear even bigger and better than it does now. We just want you to know that were constantly striving to have the pages load faster, look better, and just kick butt that much more.

Also, the biggest news to mention is that very soon, all SPLATXD content will be shot 100% in High-Def (HD) video, allowing for crystal clear pro-training, gun and product reviews, and other instructional video content. As soon as I know what issue this is going to start with I'll let you guys know.

Well, now that I've written the longest PBN News-Up ad in history, with no further ado, enjoy the first issue of SPLATXD.

Xtreme Paintball Season One made its debut on Fox Sports Net (FSN) October 2, 2007. The season consisted of 13 episodes which aired weekly through the end of 2007. Not only are all thirteen episodes now available on DVD, but eight of these episodes will re-air nationwide to 89 million households on FSN Fridays at 3:30 pm from May 9 – June 27, 2008. The second season will consist of 13 all new episodes featuring deeper story lines on professional players from the NPPL league and action from the NPPL Pro division as well as a look at the recreational side of the sport. The NPPL footage will be filmed May 16 – 18, 2008 at the NPPL Jacksonville, FL event held outside of the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL stadium. Season 2 will air on Tuesday afternoons at 4:30 pm each week in all time zones. In addition to the 18 pro teams’ preliminary and final games, the show will also capture a Pro Skills Challenge and NPPL All-Star Game which will take place on Center Court in Jacksonville Friday, May 16th. Fans may vote for the player they want to compete in the NPPL All-Star Game by visiting our myspace page at www.myspace.com/npplpaintball

Sponsors for this year’s season of Xtreme Paintball are still being locked in with many already on board. We would like to thank Spyder, KEE, Rockstar and the US Marines for their commitment to the show. As sponsors continue to sign on, the storyline for the show continues to develop with new featured teams being added weekly. To date the camera crews have already zoomed in on Todd Martinez of San Diego Dynasty, Adam “AJ” Johnson of Pasadena Bad Company, Rusty Glaze of Los Angeles Infamous, Marcus Neilson of Dream Team, Chino Carbajal of Miami Rage, Josh Ouimet of Edmonton Impact, Thomas Taylor of Sacramento Excessive and of course everyone’s favorite bad boy, Chris Lasoya.

Tippman Cyclone mounted to Spyder MR1 Paintball Gun

Q: Has anyone mounted a Tippman Cyclone hopper to a Spyder MR1 paintball gun? I was the lowest profile hopper I can get mounted.

A1: Cyclone with an Tippmann X-7 paintball gun hopper is lower profile, but it makes up for it by moving everything to the right. Less height, more width. A trade off I suppose.

It's also possible to put a cyclone on a US-5 or one of them new Tippy U.S. Army markers, but they are internally very similar. Putting one on an Spider MR1 paintball gun would require a lot of modding, and probably won't work anyway.

I would look into finding good pics of a warp feeded paintball marker before you buy one. They do odd things to the weight and shape of your paintball marker, and I believe make it very difficult to shoot off handed.

A2: You might want to look into the Qloader then. It can be mounted directly under the barrel, vertically at your foregrip, you could probably even mount it on your stock (not that you would want to) it is just that versatile. The warp feed brings the hopper off the top, but just repositions to the side. Which is great if it is your bunker side, but a lot of profile if it happens to be your non-bunker side.

I would practice tilting your hopper in. By tilting you paintball marker at the wrist (PLEASE don't stick your elbow out) you can bring the hopper behind the bunker, rather than leaving it exposed. Granted, this doesn't work as well over top of bunkers, but I find I shoot from the side a lot more than I shoot over the top.

The 2008 Spyder Electra with Eye and Spyder Pilot with Eye

Spyder is ready to launch the highly anticipated all new generation Spyder paintball markers

The design team at Spyder has shifted in to high gear for their latest paintball Classic Series E-Marker creations, the Spyder Electra paintball marker with EYE and Spyder Pilot paintball marker with EYE. The new sleek body styles account for a 25% lighter, and 15% shorter profile from predecessor Spyder paintball markers. Once setting eyes on these new models you’ll soon realize that Spyder has stepped up the game, all while keeping the paintball player’s budget in mind.

Both paintball markers are standard equipped with the fast and reliable LEAP Circuit Board, specifically designed by Tadao Technologies. The new rear facing Color Access Mode Display (CAMD) shows the mode you are using, EYE status, and Battery status. Each paintball marker features the new 3-way adjustable magnetic response “Saber” trigger, Aluminum EYE covers, and can run on either CO2 or Compressed Air. It appears Spyder has listened to their loyal fans when making the new Electra paintball marker with EYE and Pilot paintball marker with EYE compatible with a standard 9v alkaline battery, or Spyder 9.6v Rechargeable battery for optimum performance.

Spyder Fenix ACS Paintball Gun Question

Spyder Fenix ACS Parts and Upgrades

Q: I'm new to paintball and i got a new Spyder Fenix ACS paintball gun with an Empire Reloader 2, and just a pure energy 20 oz co2 tank. I ordered a spyder pilot acs paintball gun and they sent this by mistake (oh well, i looked it up and its more expensive so im not sending it back) and i dont have a very high budget cuz i have to work for my money and i need to know some upgrades that are good but not too expensive.

A: Spyder Fenix ACS Paintball Gun is nicer, and harder to find for sure.

I would get a barrel and a nice feedneck (if you have problems with whatever the stock feedneck is), and possibly look into a trigger if you don't like yours. The thing is that even with a new trigger you won't be able to walk the gun fast because the microswitch is so heavy (250 grams), but you can replace that with a 50 gram switch that would make it much easier.

Beyond that I wouldn't upgrade anything. If you plan on getting a higher-end paintball gun later on then you'll eventually need HPA (sometimes known as nitro), which is always a good upgrade to get for any paintball gun. But don't worry about that yet, co2 is fine.
