Spyder Victor IV Stock Barrel

Looking for Cheap Barrel, Plz Help!!

"I have a Spyder Victor IV and a have a nagging question that I can't really decide. From what I know, the stock barrel is better than most other stock barrels but of course, it is still a stock barrel. It is a nine inch. What I want to know is whether or not it is worth upgrading. I was thinking a 12 in. Dye Proto One Piece for $18 but I'm not sure if its worth it in the first place, or if it is, is that a good barrel for a good price for the paintball gun?"

"If you plan on keeping that paintball gun for a while you're definitely going to need another barrel. I know proto one piece barrels are really good for the price, but try and find a 14" barrel."

"save up for an ion slg, or somthing dont waste any more money on that gun unless you want to, which in that case the best overall barrel to me is the sly(pretty expensive though), i dont know if you wantto have a barrel thats more expensive then your paintball gun"

"I agree. Save up for an slg or even a spyder vs1/vibe. If ur gonna stay with the victor for a while get a proto one piece 14"."

"ya well im gonna stay with the Spyder Victor paintball gun for a bit just b/c im not a huge player and its not too important for me. i've been looking for a proto one piece 14" but I havent found anything for a great price. Does anyone know where I can find one for under $25-30 (i know thats not much, but pb isnt the top thing on my budget right now)

If thats out of the question, are there any other good 14" barrels for under 25-30? I found the UPZ Gladius on ebay for a pretty good price but there werent many reviews so idk how good it really is. Any advice?"

"pmi razzor barrel. I got one for $20."

Spyder MR2 Paintball Gun Question

Question: I just got a Spyder MR2 paintball gun. What does it mean when the light is blinking orange and green?

Answer:

Spyder MR Series Guns

my spyder gun hybrid question

"i've somewhat recently picked up a spyder vs2 paintball gun that has a regulator that doesn't work and a somewhat upped xtra. I put the trigger frame from the spyder vs2 onto the xtra, but to do so i had to pull the eyes. now that the thing is rigged up, when i turn the board on, the lights go red. Is there any way I can make this thing shoot without the eyes plugged in? I would just like to know before i chop part of the body off to fit the vs2 gun bolt and put a bunch of money in upgrades if it isn't even going to work.

i got it used and as soon as i plugged my tank in i took about 20 shots and then realized the pressure was 300+ so i turned it down to the regular 150 and then the orings inside must have blown or something cause now it leaks out of every possible area on the bottomline reg. previous owner said this was the second reg that he had gone through

either way i thought it would be fun to have a second project paintball gun but i don't want to dump a bunch of money into it if i don't know whether the board will work without the eyes or not"

"itd probably be better to use xtra parts and put them onto the spyder vs series than vice versa."

"except the trigger frames are shaped different. the old spyders have a curve to fit the body while the spyder vs2 paintball marker frame is flat. this creates a little space between the body and the frame but it still fits and the sear still catches. essentially i know that it will work i just need to know if anyone knows if the board will still work if the eyes are disconnected or if there is someway to wire the relay so that it does work."

Spyder VS3 paintball gun & Ion Xe?

"I'm wanting to buy one of these paintball guns but dont really know how well they perform or how reliable, now i had a spyder pilot and i hated that thing.... had so many electrical problems with it but again it was co2 and these are nitrogen so any tips on which paintball gun i should get, or mabye you know a even better paintball gun as long as its 300 or under."

"Using co2 on the kingman didn't effect the electronics, it only cycles the pneumatics. Kingmans lower end paintball markers always have a few kinks here and there in it but nothing too big. If you didn't like how the spyder pilot handled you most likely wont enjoy the spyder vs3 paintball gun. Kingmans double stacked blow back markers don't really do the job when it comes to speed and operation, My vote goes for the ion paintball marker. The smart parts ion is a cheap readily available marker that has revolutionized the paintball market as far as amazing entry level markers are concerned. It has many, many mods available and has a smooth operation. You'll want to use hpa with these because the pneumatics are completely different that an open bolt like your past spyder paintball gun and requires consistancy that only a clean gas source could offer."

Spyder Sonix paintball gun OR Tippmann 98 custom?!?

Which paintball gun should i get Spyder Sonix OR Tippmann 98 custom?!?
Q: I am a beginner paintballer that isnt planning on playing any tournaments. I probably wont be paintballing more than three times a month because of how far the paintball course is from my house. The main thing i care about is that the paintball gun is accurate.

A1: Well, there are going to be pros and cons of each paintball gun. The reason why every paintball shop knows how to fix Spyder paintball guns so well is because they break down all the time.

For what you're looking for, the Tippmann owns the Spyder Sonix paintball gun. The Tippmann paintball gun is ultimately better, and especially in your case. Spyder paintball guns are nowhere near as accurate as the Tippmann 98 custom.

The Tippmann 98 custom series is about one of the most accurate classes of guns I've ever used, and I recommend them to anyone who asks about woodsball markers.

You'll see that the custom is really easy to upgrade, shop for, and have repaired (although I doubt you'll ever have to).

Spyder's aren't reliable, and they're hard to upgrade. Go with the Tippmann.

A2: Three times a month is actually a lot for a casual recballer. I wish i could play that often.

Anyway, both paintball guns can be accurate, since accuracy is dictated by barrel & paint quality (and paint to bore matching). That being said, i question the quality of both the stock spyder barrel & the stock tippmann barrel. So whichever gun you get, you may want to get a new barrel.

Not saying to get a new barrel when you get the gun, you should always use a stock paintball gun before upgrading anything, because maybe you won't need to. A lot of upgrades are based on personal preference, anyway.

So both paintball guns are good and both guns can be upgraded to electro later on if you choose to do so (buying an e-frame for the spyder or an e-grip for the tippmann 98). However, in the long run, it'd be cheaper to buy the electro version of either one now (for instance, getting an e-spyder like a Spyder Pilot or Spyder Electra or getting a Tippmann w/ an e-grip pre-installed).

A3: i play at a woods course in my backyard and i had a spyder paintball gun. Most of my friends played with Tippmann 98's, and they fired slower, but primarily more accurately and with fewer gun problems. moral of the story is that you cant beat a Tippmann, plus you can always get plenty of mods for it (id start with a barrel, as the stock barrels arent very good). If you want to fire faster, id recommend a smart parts ion, which ive seen new for under $170 at paintball stores.

A4: i've been using spyder paintball guns my whole life, they're easy to strip, every single paintball shop knows how to fix one,

this paintball gun costed me 150 and came with everything

then again that was several years ago, i'd recommend the spyder pilot acs, single shot, 3 round burst, and full auto is all you need

check out what this kid did to his pilot

now i'm pretty sure you can get this for less than $100

A5: I don't know much about spyders, but I heard decent things. I love Tippmann paintball guns though, especially the cost for what you get. They say Tippmanns are built like tanks, and they last. I had a Tippmann 98 custom with a 16 custom products barrel and a better bolt and it was really nice. Also the Tippmann A5 paintball gun for a little more is a really decent.

A6: I would get the Tippmann 98 custom. They are one of the most upgradeable paintball gun out there and are great. It is pretty accurate and can be very accurate when you upgrade it.

A7: I am a huge spyder fan but there is one gun i don't like and it is the spyder sonix... so get the tippman it is a good gun for begginers

These icons are meant to further the amount of paintball resources at your disposal, as each button takes you where you need to go to find more information on whatever topic your reading about. Here's a breakdown of the buttons and what they all mean.

Dollar Sign: Click here to go directly to the "Buy Now" page for this item.
Camera: Takes you to special photo galleries so you can see more photos on the subject.
Fist: Takes you to a related PBNation thread.
Question Mark: Links you directly to the host website of the company your reading about.
Letter: Send an email to a company/player/SPLAT Girl.
Myspace Logo: Visit the myspace pages of pro players and SPLAT Girls alike.
Eyeball: "See" additional info on this topic
Video Camera: "Watch" additional info on this topic.
RR: It's a secret, there's only one of this button in this issue.

SPLATXD Ads: All the ads in SPLATXD click-through directly back to the manufactures website. This way you don't have to wait to buy the hottest new goggles from JT, or find more info on the latest Stiffi barrel.

Maximizing Your SPLATXD Experience: Since SPLATXD features more paintball video than just about any other digital magazine in existence (Let alone paintball), load times may vary depending on your computer/internet speed. To help you out with this, we have set the smaller size videos to "Auto-play" meaning they'll start to play the second you turn to the page their on, while you'll need to hit play on the larger videos. This prevents too much content trying to buffer and load at once, which could drastically slow your experience. So if you come across a video and it doesn't automatically start to play, just click play on the toolbar.

Coming Soon: Coming next week, SPLATXD is changing host companies, which will result in double the loading speed and 25% larger pages, meaning the content will appear even bigger and better than it does now. We just want you to know that were constantly striving to have the pages load faster, look better, and just kick butt that much more.

Also, the biggest news to mention is that very soon, all SPLATXD content will be shot 100% in High-Def (HD) video, allowing for crystal clear pro-training, gun and product reviews, and other instructional video content. As soon as I know what issue this is going to start with I'll let you guys know.

Well, now that I've written the longest PBN News-Up ad in history, with no further ado, enjoy the first issue of SPLATXD.
