Spyder Cup 2008 Rule Book

Rules Summary

Spyder Paintball Markers Only
Every device used to propel a paintball during any Spyder Cup event must be a Spyder paintball marker and must be recognizable as such. Upgrades to the barrel, regulator, feed neck, grips, bolt, expansion chamber, and external cosmetics will be allowed as long as the marker can still be easily recognized as a Spyder marker and the basic functioning of the marker remains that of a Spyder. At no point may the Spyder name or logo on a marker be covered or removed.

Rookie, Novice, and Amateur Players Only
No Professional, Semi-Professional, or Open class players will be allowed to participate in any Spyder Cup event. This means that any player who competed in any Pro, Semi-Pro, or Open bracket during the past three (3) years (2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008) in the NPPL, PSP, NXL, or Millennium series' shall be considered disqualified from all Spyder Cup events. This rule will be strictly enforced by immediate team disqualification. No refunds will be given to any disqualified team.

Three (3) Player Tournament
Teams must accurately register a minimum of three primary players. No unregistered player may compete in the event. All players must carry a valid form of identification at all times while at the event location and must produce such identification immediately upon request from any referee, field staff, or promotional staff member.

Center-Flag Format
Teams will begin each game on opposing sides of the field. Players may spread out and choose their own starting positions as long as their barrels point to the back-wall and their entire bodies and equipment are in the End Zone and not on the playing field at Game-On (space permitting). One flag will be hung in the center of the field. The game will end when a player captures the flag and touches it to the opposing team’s back-wall or the flag breaks the plane of the opposing End Zone before the three (3) minute time limit expires. The playing field will be up to 100 feet long by 70 feet wide. Check field layout for each event for the actual field size.

100 POINT SYSTEM
All games will be played on the 100 point system devised below.

(1) Elimination = 10 points per opposing player eliminated during regulation time
(2) Flag Hang = 55 points to the first team to hang the flag
(3) Flag Possession = 20 points to the team in possession of the flag at game end (if any) if no flag hang occurs
(4) Live Player(s) = 5 points for each live player remaining at game end

Semi-Auto Mode Only
Markers performing in semi-auto mode may fire as rapidly as humanly possible using one trigger pull and release per shot fired. All markers are subject to testing prior to and during every game. Qualified markers include all Spyder e-markers, Spyder markers using the Rocking Trigger frame, and Spyder semi-auto markers (with or without Spyder e-trigger frames). No full-auto, burst, or ramping modes will be permitted.

Eligibility for Grand Finale
In order to qualify to compete in the Grand Finale tournament, each team must first compete in one of the regional qualifying events and place first. There are seven total Regional Events, meaning there will be seven total teams competing in the Spyder Cup Grand Finale.

*Spyder Cup is a division of Kingman Group. Rules, terms, conditions and agreements subject to change.

Planet EclipsePlanet Eclipse joined the CFOA several years ago and has rapidly grown to become one of the league's greatest supporters. Kingman Spyder VS3 or RSX

Q: I'm gonna buy a new marker, and I don't which marker is better, I have now an Spyder Pilot ACS and is a very good marker, I want to buy a better marker and I don't know which to choose between Spyder VS3 or the Spyder RSX both of spyder...

can anybody tell me which is better?

A1: No VS threads, but its all personal choice. i wouldn't ever buy a rocking trigger though. The Spyder RSX is like an updated Spyder VS paintball gun series so personally i would go RSX, but try both out before you make a decision.

A2: As far as your paintball marker choice goes it is personal preference. Shoot both the markers if you have the opportunity. Personally I would go with the RSX because it is the newer marker (release date wise) and is the most technologically advanced as far as kingman (spyder) markers go. It also doesn't have the rocking trigger which is again based on personal preference. I prefer not to shoot a rocking trigger but you might like them. Thats the importance of shooting a marker before buying it.
